T2F invites you all to participate in “Project Revibe”: an engaging collection drive hosted by RLCC and
GarbageCan in hopes of reducing plastic wastage and up-cycling waste into sustainable re-usable items!
In efforts to slow down the rate at which plastic bags are reaching the ocean, reaching landfills or are being burned with household garbage, two entities namely Garbage Can and RLCC are collaborating with T2F to organize a campaign that is geared towards bringing awareness to this issue and finding a sustainable solution for this problem.
Our aim is to prevent single use plastic bags from reaching garbage dumps, landfills, drains and the sea instead it will be rerouted to be up-cycled into long term use products. These products will be intricately designed into crochet crafts such as tote bags, baskets, and gym bags. This will not only help improve health of the oceans, soil and air, it will also provide livelihood and income generation for underprivileged communities with the help of RLCC’s artisans, while we at Garbage Can collect plastic bags which have not been recycled. Project Revibe is an effort to engage audiences with ways to reduce, reuse and recycle, in an interactive, hands-on approach towards plastic.
GarbageCan’s vehicle or recycle bin will be set up at T2F every Saturday after Eid till the last Saturday of July. Patrons and citizens will be encouraged to bring their clean plastic bags to T2F and deposit them to GarbageCan. The bags collected will be delivered to RLCC where the craftswomen will up-cycle them. The up-cycled products will be exhibited at T2F in August where the visitors will have the chance to purchase the products.
